last_vinyl_before_doomsday Ugly, atmospheric blackened doom with some truly strange vocals. Great band.

Sonny92 A fairly nuts and bolts doom album of lengthy dirges in the vein of Reverend Bizarre et al. That is except for the track Nothing, which is an absolute classic that would not have felt out of place on Warning's Watching From A Distance album (which just happens to be one of my all-time top three albums, so you can see I'm impressed). If only Rote Mare could write an album of the quality to match this song, they would truly be on to something special. Favorite track: Nothing.

Originally born as a one-man incarnation which soon became four and now five. Rote Mare is heavy doom metal with epic and melodic touches. Influenced by the 70's doom/rock of Black Sabbath combined with the 80's doom/metal of Trouble & Celtic Frost through to the more recent sounds of Reverend Bizarre, Rote Mare combine all these elements into their own unique style. ... more
